1) “The Crown” conclusion, Netflix. A great series wraps up. In each of its previous five seasons, “The Crown” drew an Emmy nomination for best drama series. (It won once, with last season still pending.) It has 64 more nominations, 20 wins and an admiring audience. Four weeks ago, the season’s first four episodes arrived, taking us to Diana’s death; now the final six spend more time on the William-and-Kate (shown here) and Harry stories, and on the struggles of a changing monarchy.
2) “CMA Country Christmas,”:8-9:02 p.m., ABC. Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood combine to host and sing “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing..” Lindsey Stirling backs them for “Joy to the World,” also backing Yearwood (“O Holy Night”) and Ashley McBride (“You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”). Also, Grant does “Grown Up Christmas Wish”; others include Jordan Davis, Lainey Wilson, Jon Pardi, Lady A, Zach Williams and The War and Treaty.
3) “Saturday Night Live Christmas Special,” 8-10 p.m., NBC. “SNL” is on a roll now – an especially good episode last week (Adam Driver and Olivia Rodrigo) and a promising one this week (Kate McKinnon and Billie Eilish). In between, it gives us holiday sketches from many decades.
4) Disney doings. From 9:02 ro 11 p.m., ABC’s “20/20” has a report on the first century of the Disney studio. (Since ABC is owned by Disney, the report might be positive.) Then again, you can also savor some of the studio’s shows, on the Disney Channel. At 7 p.m. is a sing-along version of the gorgeous “Frozen” (2013). That’s followed by more animation – “Olaf’s Frzxen Adventure” (8:40), “Duck the Halls” (9:15) and “Mickety Saves Cristmas” (9:40).
5) More Christmas. Back-to-back, TNT has two great shows — “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. and “A Christmas Story” (1983) at 8 – and then a very good one: “Patrick Stewart’s “A Christmas Carol” (1999) at 10. Alongside lots of movie reruns, there’s a new one: “Heaven Down Here” is adapted from a Mickey Guyton about strangers trapped by a snowstorm; it’s 8 p.m. on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
