2) “Happiness” opener, 8 and 8:30, PBS. After imploding on Broadway, a director is back in New Zealand. His mother nudges him toward the local theater company, now trying an original Helen of Troy music. This six-part, three-Sunday story starts with clever humor, then adds character drama and some surprisingly good songs.

3) “The Road,” 9:30 p.m., CBS. Two people were ousted last week, leaving four vying for the three spots in next week’s finale. There’s Cassidy Daniels, Adam Sanders, Channing Wilson and Britnee Kellogg — who delighted with her “Hell in a Handbag” lyrics: “I got a lighter from a guy in Texas/He got a key to my ex’s Lexus.”

4) “Tracker,” 8:30 p.m., CBS. It’s the fourth episode for Brent Saxton as Keaton, a retired cop. Now he wants Colter’s help finding his former partner. They soon come across a trail of bodies.

5) MORE: At 6, HGTV tours the White House Christmas decor. At 7:30, CW has Steven Spielberg’s great “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” At 8, Hallmark has our favorite movie title; a church and synagogue link in “Oy to the World.” And at 8:30, Fox’s “The Simpsons” flashes forward to a time when (really) Homer seems like only sane person in the family.
