Best-bets for Dec. 26: rerun time for comedies, Aussies

1) “NCIS: Sydney,” 8-11 p.m., CBS. As the strikes took hold, CBS grabbed some shows from other countries. 2) “Night Court” and “Extended Family,” 8 and 8:30 p.m., NBC. Starting next week, both comedies will have new episodes on Tuesdays. For now, they settle into their spots with reruns: “Night Court” has its season-finale from May; Judge Abby is on trial, as she and Dan fight to save their jobs,. “Extended Family” has the fairly funny pilot that debuted Saturday; Jim (Jon Cryer) juggles a new life with his ex-wife, their kids and her boyfriend.

3) Bowl games, ESPN. After a two-day Christmas break, the bowl barrage returns. Today, ESPN has games at 2, 5:30 and 9 p.m. ET. There’s much more ahead, including four games per day, Wednesday through Saturday, occasionally spilling over into other networks.

4) “Fargo,” 10 p.m., FX. After six great episodes, “Fargo” slides into a bizarre detour. Dot is on the run from her first husband, a fierce North Dakota sheriff. Tonight she seems to slide into an alternate world – then return. That leads to a harsh surprise at the end of this hour annd some odd steps early in the next one. For good or bad, “Fargo” keeps surprising us.

5) Family shows. The “25 Days of Christmas” surge has ended, but kids are on vacation and Freeform is busy. It has the charming “Eloise at Christmastime” (2003) at 11:30 a.m. and more, with the lovely “Moana” (2016) at 8:30 p.m.. The Disney Channel has the witty “Toy Story” (1995) at 8. And many PBS stations rerun “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” at 9. Alan Cumming reads a full adaptation of the story, backed by Tchakovsky’s orchestral music.
