Best-bets for March 5: Two seasons start, one show ends

1) “The Cleaning Lady” season-opener, 8 p.m.,, Fox. A month after the death of one of its stars, this adjusts nimbly. Adan Canto died at 42 of appendix cancer; he was terrific as Arman, a good-hearted drug boss who rescued Thony, the doctor-turned-cleaner. 2) “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” 9 p.m., Fox. Spanning the first season was the story of a boy who faked being the long-lost son of Nikki and her ex-husband Jason (Dania Ramirez and Scott Caan). Now they focus on their work at the MPU. This story – a crowded city bus vanishes – strains credibility, but is involving.

3) “Good Trouble” series finale, 9:30-11 p.m., Freeform. This excellent series – packed with young-adult crises in Los Angeles – is ending way too soon. Mariana has new evidence against Silas, the cult-leader. Also, she might choose Joaqun (whose sister is in the cult) or Evan (partly amnesiac after being shot by Silas’ people) or neither. Then her roommates have their own complications.

4) “Extended Family,” 8:30 p.m., NBC. Jim (Jon Cryer) is careful to be a dligent dad, catching every event despite divorce. But now two of them – pinewood derby and daddy-daughter dance – are on the same night. Yes, this is a familiar plot; still, Cryer is the best at turning well-meaning futility into laughs.

5) ALSO: This is “Super Tuesday,” when the news networks work overtime, covering presidential primaries in 16 states. And Turner Classic Movies has one of the best nights in its Oscar previiew: “Citizen Kane” (1941), No. 1 on the American Film Institute’s all-time list, is at 6 p.m. ET, with the superb “In the Heat of the Night” (1967) at 8.
