1) “The Turpins: A New House of Horror,” 10 p.m., ABC. At 17, Jordan Turpin (shown here in a later photo) escaped and told police about her 12 siblings, as young as 2, being abused. Their parents were sentenced to life in prison. Eight years later, the younger kids tell Diane Sawyer more about that … and about ensuing failures of the foster-care system.
2) “Harlan Coben’s Final Twist,” 8 p.m., CBS. Melissa Oxley said she woke up one night to a noise … then found that her husband had been shot in bed next to her. This was a case that, for a time, baffled police. And yes, tonight is a true-crime marathon, if you add ABC at 10 and cable (Headline News, A&E, Investigation Discovery, Oprah Winfrey Network) at 9.
3) “Will Trent,” 8 p.m., ABC. We could skip the true-crime tales and settle for fiction. This one has thieves in animal masks; at 9, “High Potential” has the murder of a tech founder who was obsessed with extending life. CBS has reruns of “NCIS” (a kidnapped teen) at 9 and “NCIS: Origins” (murder of a Marine who was selected for a secret mission) at 10.
4) “Best Medicine,” 8 p.m., Fox. Here’s a lighter alternative to all that crime. The town doctor tries to help the recluse who controls the town’s power grid. Naturally, that leads to a black-out.
5) Pro Bowl, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN, with preview at 6:30. Five days before the Super Bowl, some of the other stars have their game. The NFC will be quarterbacked by Dak Prescott, Jared Goff and Jalen Hurts, the AFC by Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Shedeur Sanders and Joe Flacco.
