Best-bets for Feb. 9: survivors, skaters, librarians

1) “Independent Lens: The Librarians,” 10 p.m., PBS. Big or (shown here) small, libraries have been quiet refuges. 1) “Independent Lens: The Librarians,” 10 p.m., PBS. Big or (shown here) small, libraries have been quiet refuges. Librarians have been the kindly source of words and wisdom; nNow, however, they’re under attack. Modern book-burners demand the removal of subjects ranging from sexuality to slavery. This compelling film follows several; some lost their jobs, others keep up the quiet fight.

2) “Survivor,” 8 p.m., CBS. As its 50th edition nears, this reruns 10 key episodes, at 8 p.m. weekdays. That starts in 2008: Winning most challenges, Erik Reichenbach neared the finala with four women. The rest was dramatic.

3) Olympics. The figure-skating team competition has finished and it’s time for the individual (and duo) champs. That start with ice dancers; their first round is at 1:20 p.m. ET on the USA Network, then 2-5 p.m. on NBC. There’s much more all day on USA; then NBC repackages it from 8-11 p.m.

4) “Memory of a Killer,” 8 p.m., Fox. There are a lot of reruns this week, but not on Fox. Tonight, Angelo (Patrick Dempsey) is supposed to do a hit job. He postpones that to go after the man he feels was responsible for shooting his daughter. Also, the FBI is investigating a crime linked to Angelo.

5) MORE: “American Idol” has its third round of auditions, at 8 p.m. on ABC; a new “Rookie” follows at 10. And two strong hours arrive on www.acorn.tv. In “My Life is Murder,” there’s scheming in academia; in the fourth (of six) episodes of “Hidden Assets,” investigators probe the link between medical waste and human trafficking.
