1) Winter Olympics. It’s time for the short-program start of men’s figure skating. That begins at 12:30 p.m. ET on USA, with NBC taking over for the top-seeded guys (including U.S. whiz Ilia Malinin and Japan’s Yuma Kagiyama, who has b eaten him twice on short programs, including, shown here, Satuirday) from 1:45-5 p.m. NBC also has men’s skiing at noon, women’s luge at 12:45 and cross-country sprint at 1:15. As usual, it re-packages the day from 8-11 p.m.
2) More Olympics. At 2:10 p.m. ET (rerunning at 8), USA has a women’s hockey showdown between the countries that took gold (Canada) and silver (U.S.) in 2022. USA goes all day, including the finals of women’s team skiing (8-9 a.m.); it has ski jumping at 6:15 p.m. CNBC has curling, from 5-8 p.m.
3) “Doc,” 9 p.m., Fox. Everyone seems burdened by secrets now. That includes Amy’s boss (hiding an ailment) and Amy’s daughter; it also includes Jake’s ex-wife, with a cancer diagnosis. Into this troubled time, Richard (Scott Wolf) returns with a fresh accusation. This follows a “Best Medicine,” centering on the blueberry festival.
4) “Frontline,” 10 p.m., PBS. This looks at the evolving crisis involving the U.S. and Venezuela. It’s preceded by two Henry Louis Gates hours — “Finding Your Roots” (Sara Haines and Tracey Letts) at 8 and “Black and Jewish America” (the 1920s through ’50s) at 9.
5) MORE: “Will Trent” has a new hour (a fresh challenge for Amanda) at 8 p.m., but the rest of ABC’s night — and most of its week — is reruns. Tonight, it’s a “High Potential” two-parter (art-museum theft) from 9-11 p.m. Also, Freeform has the pleasant “Princess Diaries” fims at 1:35 and 4:10 p.m., followed by animation — “Elemental” at 6:50, “Tangled” at 9.
