Week’s top-10 for Feb. 16: Skaters swirl to finale

1) Olympic figure skating. The pairs’ long program starts at 2 p.m. ET today on the USA Network, then moves to NBC from 12:55 to 2. Then the women (shown here is the U.S.; Alysa Liu) take over — short, Tuesday (12:35 p.m., USA; 2:40, NBC); long, Thursday (1-5 p.m., NBC). There’s a gala — no rules, just fun — at 12:55 a.m. and 13:40 p.m. Saturday. And it’s all repackaged at night. Read more…

2) More Olympics. NBC goes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET today … noon to 5 through Friday … and 10 to 6 on Saturday. On Sunday, it starts at 7 a.m., catches the hockey finals at 8:10 a.m. and the closing ceremony at 2:30 p.m., with highlights from 5-6 p.m. It repackages each day from 8-11 p.m. (10:30 p.m. Friday, 9-11 Saturday). There’s more on USA and CNBC.

3) “Dark Winds,” 9 p.m. Sunday, AMC, rerunning at 10:03. First is a fresh angle on the shoot-out in last week’s opener. Then things get deeper, with Joe (haunted by his wife’s departure) and his deputies — Bernadette (secretly promised his job when he retires) and Chee (her boyfriend). In a potent hour, they (and a killer) search for a teen runaway and her cousin.

4) “American Idol” and “The Rookie,” 8 and 10 p.m. today, ABC. CBS and ABC are still awash in reruns, but this is an exception: First, the fourth round of “Idol” auditions; then Harper and Lucy are undercover in Baja, where two young women have been killed. Also new, on Tuesday. are ABC’s “Will Trent,” at 8 p.m., and a documentary (see No. 5) at 10.

5) “John and Carolyn: Love, Beauty and Loss,” 10 p.m. Tuesday, ABC. This traces the complicated relationship of John Kennedy Jr. and his wife, who died with him in a plane crash. On Wednesday, it reaches Disney+ and on Hulu — which airs (with FX) a miniseries about them at 9 p.m. Wednesdays. This week, a Kennedy family dinner turns awkward.

6) “Best Medicine,” 8 p.m. Tuesday, Fox. Martin Best, the new town doctor, has managed to hide his phobia to blood. That won’t be easy now: It’s the annual “Blood Factory,” when the town celebrates a gory novel that was set there. Also, Louisa needs Martin’s help. It’s a new episode of this amiable drama-comedy, followed by an intense “Doc” rerun.

7) “The Night Agent” third season, Thursday, Netflix. Unlike broadcast networks, streamers don’t retreat to reruns during the Olympics. This is a 10-part adventure that starts in Istanbul. Also streaming: “56 Days,” a romance thriller with Dove Cameron and Avan Jogla (Wednesday, Amazon Prime); a second season of Jennifer Garner’s “The Last Thing He Told Me” (Friday, Apple); and two mysteries (today, Acorn).

8) “American Masters.” 9-10:30 p.m. Friday, PBS. As a Memphis teen, Sonny Blount led his own big band. When he resisted World War II, he was disowned by his family and friends; he moved to Chicago and became Sun Ra. Self-described as an angel from Saturn, he merged poetry, pageantry, jazz and more. This relives an indefinable (and fascinating) life.

9) “Stumble,” 10:30 p.m. Friday, NBC. Here’s a break for this first-year comedy — a new episode tucked neatly behind an Olympics package. So far, the cheer-team coach has struggled at her new school, with little money and a clumsy crew; great sight gags have ensued. She’s obsessed on the nationals in Daytona … but now must submit a skills tape to get there.

10) “American Dad” season-opener (Fox) or “All Creatures Great and Small” season-finale (PBS), 9 p.m. Sunday. Fox’s revised line-up has new episodes of “Family Guy” (8 and 9:30), “Universal Basic Guys” (8:30) and “Dad” — with a wild ride (literally) as Stan finds his wife’s secret passion. It’s funny; “Creatures,” by comparison, has a warm Christmas hour. Really
