1) “St. Denis Medical” return, 8 p.m., NBC. After a three-week Olympic break, this returns with a hilarious opening bit. Then it tells funny little stories about Dr. Ron (shown here) and his squeaky shoes, a tentative friendship and a stray mushroom candy bar. It adds up to a fun time.
2) “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” 8:30 p.m., NBC. Making a documentary about Reggie (Tracy Morgan), Tobin (Daniel Radcliffe) finds a problem: Reggie never does anything. In a fun episode, we learn more about both men … and about Reggie’s big-spending fiancee.
3) “Memory of a Killer,” 9 p.m., Fox. This hit man has two tasks tonight, one simple and one that defies all belief. Wrapped around those, however, are deeper problems. His Alzheimer’s trouble is deepening, the police and FBI probes are growing, his daughter wants a gun and even her husband is investigating. It’s a solid, if unsettling hour.
4) “American Idol,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. Here’s the annual “Hollywood Week” — except this time it’s not a week and it’s not in Hollywood. It’s the second half of a two-parter, with the audition survivors coming to Nashville. That overlaps with the second round of “Voice” auditions, from 9-11 p.m. on NBC.
5) MORE: For light fun, catch “Wild Cards” (8-9 p.m., CW) or “DMV” (8:30, CBS). Or try a mildly entertaining “Murdoch Mysteries” (www.acorn.tv), with Choi in a hostage crisis and Crabtree in personal pain. For a serious hour, the second “CIA” (10 p.m., CBS) sees a smuggler stopped at the border with an unidentified cargo.
