1) “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette,” 9 p.m., FX., rerunning at 10:30. This was the wedding the masses speculated about … performed far from their view. In a tiny island chapel, Kennedy and Bissette (shown here in a previous episode) married. In an excellent episode, we see the bride have warm moments with Ethel Kennedy and cold ones with her own mother.
2) “Animal Control,” 9 p.m., Fox. For Frank, his dad’s heart attack is a true tragedy … because it means the guy will move in with his son, constantly complaining. It’s a sharp, funny episode that also finds Victoria and Patel scheming to replace the pet food that was destroyed in a fire.
3) “Going Dutch,” 9:32, Fox. Major Shah is the focus of two stories, one dreary (a wayward camping trip) and the other OK: Capt. Quinn (who understands Shah) plans a party with his wife (who doesn’t). In a fairly funny detour, Papadakis plans to hear the complete Bible on tape.
4) “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” 8 p.m., CBS. It’s good to have TV’s best comedy back with new episodes. Last week’s (focusing on Mandy’s dad) was terrific; this time, it’s Mandy’s turn: Her remark during a live telecast causes trouble for everyone. The story brings in Pastor Jeff, plus Georgie’s mom and Mandy’s boss (who’s her ex-boyfriend).
5) ALSO: This is a good time to catch up on the Oscar front-runners. At 9:53 p.m. today, HBO has “One Battle After Another” (which is also on HBO Max); on Friday, Peacock adds “Hamnet.” At the Golden Globes, they won for best comedy and drama respectively.
