Best-bets for March 11: “Squares” and “Cup” lead a reality overload

1) “Hollywood Squares” return, 10:30 p.m., CBS. After a four-week break, “Squares” returns … but is trimmed to a half-hour slot. Drew Barrymore (shown here with Thomas Lennon, a frequent panelist) lives in the center square. Tonight, she’s with reality-show veterans Rob Mariano, Niecy Nash Betts and Ms. Pat, plus singer Ariana DeBose and comedians Ron Funches, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Holmes and Jo Koy. Read more…

2) “America’s Culinary Cup,” 9:30 p.m., CBS. This week, it’s the “Carnivore Classic,” which is interesting, if not terribly fair. Some top chefs have no experience butchering a full carcass … some smaller folks have trouble lugging a 225-pound mass … and one of the rules isn’t entirely clear. Still, it’s fun. Also, Padma Lakshmi looks great in a cowboy hat.

3) More reality. Wednesdays are clearly the time for unscripted shows. At 8 p.m., CBS’ “Survivor” continues its 50th season and Fox’s “Masked Singer” opens with Care Bears singing “Walking on Sunshine” — providing way more cheeriness than most of us need. Also: At 9, Fox’s “Fear Factor” and ABC’s “Greatest Average American”; at 10, ABC’s “Shark Tank.”

4) Chicago shows, 8-11 p.m., NBC. After last week’s terrific three-shown crossover, we’re back to regular episodes. On “Chicago Med,” St. Patrick’s Day injuries … on “Chicago Fire,” a hit-and-run driver … on “Chicago P.D.,” Burgess faces a volatile drug case while training a rookie officer.

5) ALSO: “Scrubs” (8 p.m., ABC) tries to revive poker night. And two movies ripple with vibrant songs: Judy Garland’s “Meet Me in St. Louis” (1944), 6 p.m. ET on Turner Classic Movies, survives a lame plot; “That Thing You Do” (1996), at 8 on MGM+, was beautifully directed by Tom Hanks, who co-stars.
