Best-bets for March 13: stumbling fun; Oscar prep

1) “Stumble” season-finale, 8:30 p.m., NBC. Gradually, this has evolved into an above-average comedy. It offers interesting characters, sharp sight gags and, at times, dandy cheer-team moves. 2) “One Battle After Another,” 6:15 p.m., HBO. Two days before the Oscars, you can find most of the best-picture nominees. This one is also on HBO Max, as is “Sinners.” Peacock has “Hamnet” and “Bugonia”; Netflix has “Frankenstein: and “Train Dreams” ; Hulu” has “Secret Agent”; Apple has “F1.” For “Marty Supreme” and “Sentimental Value,” there’s rental.

3) Baseball. The World Baseball Classic starts its quarter-finals at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports1 and at 8 on Fox. Games continue daily, to the title game Tuesday. Or catch baseball films on Turner Classic Movies — the brilliant “Field of Dreams” (19890 at 8 p.m. and “Bull Durham” (1988) at 10.

4) “Fire Country,” 9 p.m., CBS. Just before starting his Emmy-winning work in “The Pitt,” Shawn Hatosy did four episodes as Chief Brett Richards; now he’s back for this episode, complicating life. That’s alongside “Fire Country” at 8 (a bad strain of synthetic marijuana creates chaos) and “Boston Blue” at 10, with a St. Patrick’s Day crisis.

5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., NBC has “Happy’s Day” … CW has a documentary movie about ABBA, the Swedish group that has sold more than 400 million records … and ABC launches a short-run “Celebrity Jeopardy.” This opener has actors Rachel Dratch and Mark Duplass and sportscaster Katie Nolan.
