Best-bets for March 15: Oscars bring dazzle, music and (maybe) more

1) Academy Awards, 7 p.m. ET, ABC and Hulu. Conan O’Brien hosts and “Sinners” leads with 16 nominations. Its song, “I Lied to You,” will have a big-scale production. “Golden,” from “KPop Demon Hunters,” will also be done live, with others in videos. “One Battle After Another,” “Hamnet” and Timothee Chalamet’s “Marty Supreme”(shown here) also could be prominent.

2) Pre- and post-Oscars. The E channel starts its preview at 2 p.m. ET, with red-carpet coverage from 4-7. Some ABC stations have a preview from 3-4:30 and a red-carpet show at 5; then ABC adds a red-carpet overview at 6:30. At 10:30, ABC plans a “Bachelorette” preview and E starts an “After Party” … and many West Coast stations will rerun the Oscars at 8 p.m. PT.

3) “Marshals,” 8 p.m., CBS. After two fairly good episodes, here’s a terrific one. Kayce’s two worlds — the ranchers he grew up with, the reservation where his late wife grew up — collide and he’s in the middle. Amid mixed emotions, there’s tension, gunfire and razor-sharp dialog.

4) “Dark Winds,” 9 p.m., AMC; also 11:32. Things have been tough for these Navajo tribal cops, ever since they reached Los Angeles in search of a runaway teen girl. This hour starts with Joe in deep trouble, ends with Chee in worse. In between, this deeply layered, 1960s drama sees both men with frayed emotions … while a killer pursues the runaway.

5) Sports. The World Baseball Classic has its semi-finals at 8 p.m. ET today and Monday on Fox Sports1. Basketball has the pros at 8 (Warriors-Knicks) on NBC, plus college conference-tournament finals — SEC, 1 p.m., ESPN; Atlantic 10 and Big Ten, 1 and 3:30, CBS … which promptly has the NCAA tourney brackets at
