“The Bachelorette” has suddenly been yanked from ABC’s schedule, three days before it was set to open its season.
The decision came after TMZ released a video showing Taylor Frankie Paul (shown here) seemingly attacking her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen and throwing several chairs at him. The incident led to Paul pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
Paul had been the centerpiece of a makeover for the show. After “Bachelorette” finished its usual summer run in 2024, the network took it down for reworking. The new season was set to start at 8 p.m. Sunday (March 22), 18 months after the previous one aired. It was also going to lead into the 10 p.m. opener of “Love Overboard,” which thenn starts its Hulu run on March 26.
Paul has been considered the sort of strong force that could revive “Bachelorette.” She found fame online, telling about the “soft-swinging” life with her husband and friends. That led to “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” now in its fourth season.
Frank, 31, has two children with her ex-husband and one with Mortensen.
