Best-bets for March 29: Basketball sparks a busy day

1) CBS blitz. This should be a powerhouse day for CBS. First, it has basketball, filling the final spots in the college tournament’s final four. That’s at 2 and 4:30 p.m. ET, leaping (in Eastern and Central zones) into a strong night — “60 Minutes,” “Marshals” — Kayce (shown here, right) goes rogue to rescue a kidnapped girl) and “Tracker” (a boy vanishes during a field trip). 2) “The Count of Monte Cristo,” 10 p.m., PBS. Here’s the best hour of an eight-week tale that’s otherwise quite grim. Framed and imprisoned, Edmond meets an inmate (beautifully played by Jeremy Irons); a bracing adventure ensues. That follows a strong “Forsytes,” with Soames scheming in romance and in corporate politics.

3) “Betrayal: Secrets & Lies” opener, 10:02 p.m., ABC. After three seasons on Hulu, this true-crime show starts an eight-week run on ABC. The opener (reaching Hulu and Disney+ on Monday) sees a woman savor a new relationship after her marriage ends; then come stark discoveries.

4) “The Faithful: Women of the Bible,” 8-10 p.m., Fox. In the second of three Sunday films, this focuses on Rebekah and a rivalry between her sons. Also on this Palm Sunday: UPtv has “The Ten Commandments” (1956) at 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET; BYUtv has a “Grace Notes” Easter-music special at 7 p.m. ET and the Last Supper edition of “The Chosen” at 9.

5) MORE: ABC is still scrambling to fill the hole created when it pulled “Bachelorette.” Today, it has “Funniest Home Videos” and “Greatest Average American” reruns at 8 and 9. Also at 8, PBS’ “Call the Midwife” has a tough hour, including both rabies and bias.
