1) “St. Denis Medical” season-finale, 8 p.m., NBC. Dr. Ron (David Alan Grier) has been a curmudgeon, resisting warmth. Now he faces triple-bypass surgery and insists he just wants to be ignored … leaving others (shown here) to fret. Put that alongside another story — the aftershocks from Matt and Serena’s passionate kiss — and you have a terrific episode, rippling with humor and sentiment.
2) Basketball finals, 8:30 p.m. ET, TBS, TNT and TruTV. It’s time to decide the college champion. First is the big build-up: “Coach K” (Mike Krzyzewski) is at 6 p.m.; a studio show at 6:30 has Charles Barkley, Clark Kellogg, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson. Then it’s the game (called by Ian Eagle, Bill Rafferty and Grant Hill) and post-game show.
3) “Memory of a Killer” season-finale, 9 p.m., Fox. “I should’ve been smarter,” Angelo (Patrick Dempsey) says. You think? Supposedly a brilliant hit man, he hatches schemes that put two people in mortal danger. And no, his early-onset Alzheimer’s isn’t to blame. Let’s make this the series-finale.
4) “Brokenwood Mysteries,” www.acorn.tv. A body is found in a crop circle and a cult waits for a UFO. It all makes sense, eventually, in a fairly good, movie-length season-opener. This is from New Zealand, alongside a new hour of the Canadian “Murdoch Mysteries,” focusing on Inspector Choi.
5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., Fox has the “Extracted” finale, ABC’s “American Idol” gives contestants songs chosen by the judges and CBS’ “The Neighborhood” begins its long goodbye: A new episode sees Gemma hit overload … an hour-long farewell special is at 8:30 (but new episodes will continue through May 11) … and a rerun (classical-concert tickets) is at 9:30.
