1) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. It’s a busy time for Dakota Johnson. She stars in Taylor Swift’s new video and (with Anne Hathaway) in “Verity” (shown here), which reached theaters Friday. And now is her third time as “SNL” host. Turnstile — which won Grammys for best metal performance (“Birds”) and rock album — has its first turn as music guest.
2) Football, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS. After beating Michigan, one of the Big Ten’s traditional powers, Iowa (ranked No. 14) now hosts the other one, Ohio State (No. 5). Also, ABC has a strong day: Alabama (No. 7) and Mississippi (No. 16) at noon … Florida (No. 8) and Missouri (No. 25) at 3:30 … and Miami (No. 4) and Clemson at 7:30.
3) More sports. The second round of the baseball playoffs begins, with the Dodgers, Brewers, Rays and Guardians hosting survivors of the first round. That’s on TBS, TruTV and Fox Sports 1. Also, at 7:30 p.m. ET, CW has NASCAR and CBS has UFC fighting.
4) “World War II With Tom Hanks,” 7 a.m. to midnight, History Channel. This rerun skips the first three hours (they’ll run from 7-10 a.m. Sunday) and leaps straight to Pearl Harbor. Its final chapter (11:05 p.m.) has the aftermath, with victorious allies (U.S. and Russia) becoming enemies.
5) ALSO: For the fun side of Halloween, catch some Disney cartoons. There’s “Toy Story of Terror” at 7:30 p.m. on the Disney Channel and the “Monsters” movies at 5:15 and 7:20 on Freeform. And the dark side? AMC has Stephen King, with “It” at 7 p.m. and the 2013 “Carrie” at 10.
