1) Basketball opener, 3, 7 and 9:30 p.m. ET, NBC. The New York Knicks (shown here) host the Philadelphia 76ers at 7, trying to extend their amazing streak. The Knicks won 14 of their last 15 games last year, to take the championship. At 9:30, the runner-up San Antonio Spurs host the Oklahoma City Thunder; at 3, it’s the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.
2) “The Concert for New York City,” 7 p.m. to midnight, MTV, MTV2, VH1 and Logo. It was 25 years ago today that rock stars had a massive concert to hail New York’s post-9/11 resilience. Paul McCartney created it and closed the show; David Bowie opened it. There were big responses for them, Billy Joel, The Who, Adam Sandler and more. Here’s a rerun.
3) “NCIS: Origins,” 10 p.m., CBS. For the second straight week, this prequel nods to the original “NCIS.” Last week it had old Gibbs, via flash-forward; this time, it’s young Ducky. Adam Campbell showed up twice last season as “Ducky” Mallard, who was the “NCIS” medical examiner in early seasons. Now he’s back, to probe a Marine’s death.
4) “Dancing With the Stars,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. It’s “dedication night,” when the stars dedicate dance numbers to people in their lives. That’s followed by “R.J. Decker,” probing a death in a hurricane that never reached landfall.
5) “Best Medicine,” 8 p.m., Fox. When a visitor dies, her husband (a magician) seems unable to grasp what has happened. Also, there are fresh complications in Martin’s unacknowledged love for Louisa. That’s followed by “Doc,” with fresh memory seizures intruding during a tough case.
