1) “Revival” debut, 10 p.m., Syfy and USA. Elsewhere, evil zombies roam afar. Here, a few benign (mostly) ones are confined to Wausau, Wis. The opener starts adequately and gets better as we get to know Dana (a cop), her dad (the police chief), her son and her sister. The result is sometimes involving (albeit nasty, shown here) or funny, with a great closing line.
2) “Transplant,” 8 p.m. Thursday, NBC. Last week, Mags (perfectly played by Laurence Leboeuf) had two jolts: She landed the job that was also sought by her lover, Bash; also, a heart transplant is available for her. Now she faces her fears … Bash find his black-outs recurring … and there are wildly difficult patients. It’s a solid hour, in an excellent summer season.
3) “Poker Face,” Peacock. It’s time to meet a master con artist — or two of them, if you count Charlie (Natasha Lyonne). Here’s a complicated scam tale that we won’t spoil here. Melanie Lynskey and John Cho are the guest stars.
4) “Deep Cover,” Amazon Prime. We’ve seen Michael Douglas and Henry Winkler play acting teachers; now this movie has Bryce Dallas Howard as a former acting teacher. Naturally, she becomes an undercover cop and two of her students (Orlando Bloom, Nick Mohammed) work with her. Consider it an extra-credit assignment.
5) ALSO: TNT has the fourth game of the best-of-seven hockey finals, with Edmonton at Florida at 8 p.m. ET. CBS has double-“Matlock,” with Julian and Olympia facing each other in court at 9 p.m. and Matty bringing her grandson to work at 10. And Showtime has one of the all-time great films, “The Godfather”(1972), at 8.
