1) Movies. This is a night of terrific films and A-list stars. At 8 p.m., it’s Tom Cruise in “Top Gun” (shown here, 1986) on CMT, Harrison Ford in “The Fugitive” (1993) on BBC America and George Clooney and friends in “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001) on TBS. And E has star-stuffed films — “Goodfellas” at 1 and 7:30 p.m., “The Departed” at 4 and 10:30.
2) “Sharks of the North,” 10 p.m., National Geographic Channel, reruns at 1 a.m. This “SharkFest” hour finds its charm in people, not sharks. Most Nova Scotians, we’re told, are unaware of the great white sharks nearby. Now some amiable “citizen scientists” gather film and data. There are slow times, but good people; Canada is like that.
3) Wrestling, 8 p.m., ET, NBC. This is one of the Saturdays when NBC inserts a two-hour “Main Event.” That competes with UFC fighting on ESPN, soccer on Fox Sports1, pro basketball’s summer league on ESPN2 and beach volleyball on CW. Also, Fox has IndyCar racing at 5 p.m. ET, pushing baseball back to 7:35.
4) “$100,00 Pyramid,” 8-11 p.m., ABC. This starts with former “Saturday Night Live” people (Kevin Nealon vs. Ana Gasteyer) and ends with “Seinfeld” guys (Jason Alexander and Wayne Knight). In between are four more match-ups.
5) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Here’s a rerun of the season-finale, with Scarlett Johansson hosting and Bad Bunny as music guest. She’d hosted six previous times and met her husband (Colin Jost, the head writer and “Weekend Update” host) on the show.
