Two long-running TV shows are preparing their final seasons.
Netflix’s “Queer Eye” has just started production on its 10th and final year. PBS’ “Grantchester” (shown here) has announced that the 11th, next year, will be its last.
Details include:

— “Queer Eye” has had multiple lives.
It began in 2003 on Bravo as “Queer Eye For the Straight Guy,” with five style-savvy men helping the stylishly clueless. In its third season, it shortened the name so anyone could qualify for a makeover.
There have been plenty of adaptations, in the U.S. (“Queer Eye For the Straight Girl”) and beyond. Versions were produced in 14 other countries, with titles that (translated to English) included “Classy Eye,” “The Gay Patrol” and “Gay Makes You Cool.”
The original version ended after five years. A decade later, in 2018, Netflix launched its revival with a new team. The result has won 11 Emmys, including six as Outstanding Structured Reality Series.
Netflix has managed to stuff nine seasons into an eight-year stretch that spanned the pandemic. The final season, it says, is being filmed in Washington, D.C., and will include nods to the show’s legacy.

— “Grantchester” has lasted long enough to be on its third vicar.
The show has a veteran cop (Robson Green, center) solving crimes with a handsome vicar. The latter has changed– first James Norton (right), then Tom Brittney (left) and now Rishi Nair.
(The current season, Nair’s second, is 9 p.m. Sundays, through Aug. 3, on PBS, under the “Masterpiece” banner.)
Green and a few others have lasted the entire run; others came later. The July 13 and 20 episodes have big moments for Bradley Hall (as Larry) and Melissa Johns (as Miss Scott), who arrived in the fourth and sixth seasons, respectively.
All of the actors were back recently for the first table read, preparing for the 11th and final season.
