Best-bets for July 30: extinction; “Sunny” silliness

1) “Human Footprint” season-finale, 9 p.m., PBS. The natural world creates extinctions, we’re told here. Of all species since Earth began, 99% are extinct. But humans accelerate this … or slow it. 2) “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” 9 p.m., FX and FXX, rerunning at 9:30 and 10 on FXX). Dressed elegantly, Dennis and Dee think they’re going to a horse track. Alas, their dad (played by Danny Devito) is scheming again. The result gets too dark (and too similar to a July 9 episode), but there are some funny moments along the way.)

3) “Family Law,” 8 p.m., CW. The lawyers keep juggling personal pain — toxic relationships, bad break-ups — while handling bizarre cases. For Abby, it’s a woman who thought she was carrying surrogate twins … then found that one is her biologic child. For Abby’s dad, it’s a politician’s wife who wants her pre-nuptial agreement nullified.

4) “Death of a Unicorn” (2025), 8 p.m., HBO. Consider this the ultimate teen fantasy: You touch a unicorn and your acne disappears. There’s a lot more going on, including villainry. The story slogs down at times, but it’s partly salvaged by the appealing Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”) as the teen.

5) Non-fiction. HGTV has “Celebrity IOU” at 8 p.m. (with snowboard star Shaun White) and “Chasing the West” (with Drew and Jonathan Scott) at 9. Also at 8 p.m., Fox’s “MasterChef” and the opener of MTV’s “The Challenge.” At 8 is the second week of the ABC’s “Match Game” at 9.
