Best-bets for Aug. 6: good cop show/and more

1) “Good Cop/Bad Cop” return, 9 p.m., CW. If you missed this excellent show the first time, catch the reruns. This opener has a crackling-good script, sharply played. Leighton Meester plays a very good cop, working for her dad, with her eccentric brother. (They’re shown here.) When two mask-wearing robbers collide, the result is tragic, yet also quite funny.

2) “Wednesday,” Netflix. The first season had Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams (of “The Addams Family), a teen with supernatural skills, tackling a mystery at her school. It drew praise and12 Emmy nominations, including ones for Ortega and for best comedy. Now — almost three years later — it’s finally back for an eight-episode season; Tim Burton directs.

3) “The Pickup,” Amazon Prime. Eddie Murphy joined “Saturday Night Live” in 1980 — 13 years before Pete Davidson was born; Davidson joined in 2014. Now the two stars, 64 and 31, play armored-car guards, forced into a heist scheme. Keke Palmer and Eva Longoria co-star.

4) “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” 9 p.m., FX and FXX, repeating at 9:30 and 10 on FXX. In its 18th season (a sitcom record), this dips into its past. Two actors who played teen drinkers the first season are back, as parents of a teen; also, David Hornsby is back for the first time in two years, as Cricket. The story is dark and fairly funny, then ends with a great twist.

5) ALSO: Colliding at 8 p.m. are new episodes of CW’s “Family Law” (a tennis star wants to be unadopted), Fox’s “MasterChef,” CBS’ “Big Brother” and ABC’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Last week, Matt Damon and Ken Jennings teamed to win the million; tonight has Joel McHale and Jim Rash, then Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry.
