1) “Match Game,” 10 p.m., ABC. The network is heavily pushing this reboot, hosted by Martin Short (shown here in a previous episode). Tonight’s episode debuted Wednesday and will have a third run at 9 p.m. Saturday. Ego Nwodim of “Saturday Night Live,” is a panelist, along with Andrea Martin, Thomas Lennon, Pete Holmes, Jackie Tohn and Triumph the Insult Comedy Dog.
2) “Survival Mode,” 10 p.m., NBC. In February of 2021, Fort Worth had 36 straight sub-freezing hours, coating the highway with ice. A 133-car pile-up began at 6 a.m.; six people were killed (four in their cars, two after stepping out of them) and 36 were taken to the hospital. This new hour is followed by a rerun (Florida-hurricane) at 10 p.m. Tuesday,
3) “The Quiz With Balls,” 9 p.m., Fox. Two opposite chefs (from Fox shows) bring their families. There’s massive Mada Abdelhamid (6-foot-6, 275 pounds) and teeny Tini Younger. They’re likable people, but this hour, in particular, reveals the huge flaws in a poorly designed game.
4) “Irish Blood” opener, www.acorn.tv. The opening monolog is a delight — Alicia Silverstone as a divorce lawyer whose bitterness coats every word. Then comes a box of clues from her runaway dad. That part is contrived; the story — two parts today, four more weekly — is prolonged, leaving holes for a second season. Still, it’s a fun ride with great Irish backdrops.
5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., Fox’s terrific “The 1% Club” has a rerun. That goes against new episodes of ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” and NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior,” which continues its multi-week finals.
