1) “Holiday Spectacular,” 8-10 p.m. today, ABC. Here’s the sort of spectacle Disney savors — bright colors and cheery music, inside theme parks. Derek Hough (shown here amid Disney fol;k) hosts and performs; also performing are Nicole Scherzinger, Bebe Rexha, Aloe Blacc, Trisha Yearwood, Gwen Stefani, Coco Jones and Benji and Joel Madden.
2) “25 Days of Christmas” begins, Freeform. It’s the 30th year for this flurry of movies and cartoons. Today has the “Santa Clause” films, at 11:30 a.m. (1994), 1:35 p.m. (2002) and 4 p.m. (2006). It follows with the first “Home Alone” films, at 6 (1990) and 8:25 (1992). They’ll repeat often, plus others … including “Holiday Spectacular,” at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
3) “DMV,” 8 p.m., CBS. This excellent comedy gets a chance to start the night, nudging “The Neighborhood” back to 8:30. Tonight, Colette tries to redirect the holiday plans, with the usual disastrous results. Also, a surprising friendship stirs up jealousy among co-workers.
4) “FBI,” 9 p.m., CBS. This is when many networks go into holiday mode, including ABC (continuing Tuesday), NBC (Wednesday and Thursday) and lots of cable channels. But CBS is avoiding that; this week (through Friday), it has 16 new episodes, no reruns and no specials. In “FBI,” an explosion rocks an apartment building; it’s soon linked to a prisoner.
5) “The Voice,” 9 p.m., NBC. The playoffs begin. They continue next Monday, setting up the finale Dec. 15-16. That’s preceded at 8:30 p.m. today by a “The Paper” episode that has its moments, plus a flaw: It’s willing to diminish its best characters (Mare and Ned) for the sake of a laugh.
