1) “The Road” semi-finals, 9 p.m., CBS. After some emotional songs last week, no one was ousted. Now the show dumps two, before the finale. The surviving six — most of them very experienced, all deeply talented — are: Cassidy Daniels (shown here), 25; Cody Hibbard, 32; Billie Jo Jones, 34; Adam Sanders, 36; Britnee Kellogg, 40 and Channing Wilson, 49.
2) “Tracker,” 8 p.m., CBS. While grieving the fact that her daughter went missing and was murdered, a woman finds that she’s the prime suspect. Colter tries to clear her name and find the real killer.
3) “The Simpsons” and “Universal Basic Guys,” 8 and 8:30 p.m., Fox. Both episodes involve school. First, Principal Skinner discovers a runaway boy has been living in the library; now he must overcome his profound lack of parenting skills. Then Mark goes back to school, to prove he’s smart.
4) Dollyland. Here are two movies based on Dolly Parton’s childhood. She narrates “Coat of Many Colors” (2015), at noon and 7:15 p.m, and plays “the painted lady” in” Christmas of Many Colors” (2016), at 2 and 9:15. She also has a supporting role in “Steel Magnolias” (1989), at 4.
5) More movies. CW has “Pitch Perfect” (2012) at 7:30 p.m., BBC America has the delightful “Princess Bride” (1987) at 8:30 and ABC has “The Santa Clause” (1994) at 9. Amid a sea of holiday films, there’s even “A Christmas Murder Mystery.” That’s at 7 p.m. ET on UPtv, surrounded by previous Christmas mysteries at 5, 9 and 11.
