Best-bets for Dec. 10: two finales (one amazing)

1) “The Amazing Race” finale, 9:30-11 p.m., CBS. This started with 13 duos, each with a “Big Brother” alumnus. Now two are definitely still in — Jag Bains with his brother Jas and Kyland Young and his girlfriend (also from “Big Brother”) Taylor Hale. As this starts, the final spot will go to Joseph Abdin and his brother Adam or Izzy Gleicher and his fiance, Paige Seber (they’re shown here in an early episode). Read more…

2) “99 to Beat” finale, 9 p.m., Fox. Now only six of the 100 remain. They range from a priest (Peter Nevins) and a fire captain (Ronald Mitchell) to a pest exterminator (Miranda Harrison). Others are Carlene Jones, Jennifer Wang and Leandra Preston … whose brother barely missed the finals. One will win a million dollars.

3) “The Floor” semi-finals, 8 p.m., Fox. This game is dull in the early rounds, when people have their specialty categories. But now, with most of them pinned to someone else’s turf, it gets interesting. Things careen wildly tonight, leaving 16 people for next week’s two-hour finish.

4) “Shifting Gears” and “Abbott Elementary,” 8 and 8:30 p.,m., ABC. It’s time for the Christimas episodes. First, Matt and Riley both find that holiday romance can be tough. Then Gregory is in charge of the winter show.

5) :”Red One” (2024), 8-11 p.m., NBC. Two action heroes (Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans) try to rescue a kidnapped Santa. The resulting action comedy stumbled at the box office, did well streaming and tended to draw negative reviews.
