For now, CBS’ line-up is in a state of perpetual change.
Three new specials have been added, focusing on Rob Reiner (Sunday, Dec. 21) and on Christina Auilera (shown here) and “Everybody Loves Raymond” (both Monday, Dec. 22). Other shows are being moved around.
Chronologically, the changes are:
— SATURDAY (Dec. 20): “The Family Film and TV Awards” were moved here, in the 8 p.m. slto.. They were originally set for a week earlier, then were bumped by a town-hall interview with Erika Kirk, the widow of activist Charlie Kirk.
— SUNDAY: “Rob Reiner — Scenes From a Life” has been inserted at 8:30 p.m. (but 8 p.m. on the West Coast).
Earlier coverage this week focused on the murder of Reiner and his wife. Now, however, CBS can focus on a remarkable career — from co-starring in “All in the Family” to directing such acclaimed movies as “This Is Spinal Tap,” “For a Few Good Men,” “Misery,” “Stand By Me,” “The American President” and “When Harry Met Sally.”
The hour will include Reiner’s recent “60 Minutes” interview, plus new interviews with Kathy Bates, Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland, Annette Bening, Jerry O’Connell, Albert Brooks and Mandy Patinkin.
It arrives while MEtv (via digital or cable) has its own Reiner tribute: From 6-10 p.m. Sunday, it will show “All in the Family” episodes that focus on Reiner’s character, Mike Stivic.
— MONDAY: “Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion Pt. 2,” will be at 8 p.m. The original, 90-minute special did well during two runs; now CBS says it has a new batch of comments and clips.
— MONDAY: “Christina Aguilera: Christmas in Paris” follows the “Raymond” hour, at 9 p.m. With the Eiffel Tower in the backgrond, Aguilera sings holiday classics and her past hits, joined by Yesult and by Sheila E; she also talks about her life.
— MONDAY: “Hollywood Squares” has its holiday special at 10. It was originally scheduled for a day earlier, then was bumped by the Reiner hour.
— WEDNESDAY: The “Hollywood Squares” hour reruns at 8 p.m., as a Christmas Eve special. It will be followed by four “Ghosts” reruns.
— ALSO: Here’s the schedule for MEtv’s “All in the Family” episodes Sunday, focusing on Mike Stivic.
6 p.m.: Exam stress leads to impotence.
6:30: Mike has a $275 inheritance. Archie Bunker (his father-in-law) expects it to go for rent; instead, it goes to George McGovern’s presidential campaign.
7: Emergency appendectomy with a female surgeon.
7:30: A group therapy board game.
8: College graduation; Archie assumes that means Mike’s moving out.
8:30: Two obsessions — Mike eating, Archie smoking cigars — duel.
9: Mike is attracted to a woman he’s tutoring.
9:30: Locked in a storage room, Mike and Archie have a long talk.
