2) World Baseball Classic. This is getting strong attention on Fox, including the U.S. team at 8 p.m. ET today (against Brazil) and Saturday (Great Britain). There are seven more games today, on Fox Sports1, FS2 and Tubi.

3) “Happy’s Place,” 8 p.m., NBC. A poor story — involving a silent rift between co-workers — is partly saved by Rex Linn’s solid work as Emmett. Linn, Reba McEntire (his fiancee in real life) and Tokala Black Elk bring stability to a show that makes others cartoon-ish. An OK “Stumble” follows, setting up next week’s season-finale.

4) “Sheriff Country,” 8 p.m., CBS. Last week, Mickey survived (barely) a fierce jailhouse siege. Now her troubles continue, as she uncovers a web of corruption among the officials around her. That’s followed by “Fire Country” (Bode faces testing) and “Boston Blue” (a wave of violent crimes).

5) “R.J. Decker,” 8 p.m., ABC. Next week, ABC launches a fourth season of “Celebrity Jeopardy,” including the winners from the first three years. First, however, it uses this slot to rerun the “Decker” opener. Adapted from a Carl Hiassen novel, it has Scot Speedman as an ex-con detective in Florida.
