Best-bets for Aug. 18: Kids and other virgins star

1) “Lego Masters Jr.” debut, 8 p.m., Fox. Kids finally get to play with the toys. After five seasons with grown-ups, there’s a new age group (9-14) and host (Kelly Osbourne, right). For this four-week tournament, each kid duo gets a sorta-celebrity. The talent is huge; so is the hype. After a 10-minute intro, we see likable kids do great work.

2) “The Quiz With Balls,” 9 p.m., Fox. The good news is that tonight includes some remarkably good players. The bad is that this week, in particular, points to the inherent flaws in the game.

3) “Are You My First?” You can catch the entire, 10-episode season today on Hulu … or settle for the first hour, at 10:02 p.m. on ABC. The show claims to have “the largest, hottest group of virgins ever assembled,” each ready for a first time. Colton Underwood, who was a virgin during “The Bachelor” (and later came out as gay) hosts with Kaitlyn Bristowe.

4) “Survival Mode,” 10 p.m., NBC. In a five-day stretch in 2022, rain pounded Eastern Kentucky and Central Appalachia. It totaled 6-10 inches in many places, 14-16 inches in some. People clung to trees or rooftops, waiting for help (including 600 helicopter rescues); 39 died. This includes footage, plus memories of the people there.

5) ALSO: “American Ninja Warrior” continues its semi-finals; that’s 8-10 p.m. on NBC, the same time that ABC has “Bachelor in Paradise.” And CBS’ “The Neighborhood” reruns two key episodes: Malcolm and Grover graduate (8 p.m.) and Malcolm starts his new life (8:30), in another part of town.
