1) “Alien: Earth,” 8 p.m., FX, rerunning at 9:17, 10:34, 11:52. Awesome visually and intense emotionally, this ratchets up the impact. The minds of dying kids were inserted into synthetic bodies; now one synth tries to save her brother, in a crashed ship with creatures. Adult synths loom, for bad (shown here) or good, plus a young genius obsessed with discovery.
2) “America’s Got Talent,” 8-10 p.m., NBC. Each of the next four Tuesdays will have 11 acts, with viewers voting. This round has five music acts (including Tom Sandoval, of “Vanderpump Rules”) and three dance ones — B Unique, LightWire and Loco Pop Familia. It also has magic, a trapeze duo and comedian Shuler King.
3) “Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson,” 10 p.m., NBC. On her daytime show, Clarkson sometimes links with another singer for conversation and unplugged music. Now that’s being expanded into specials on four straight Tuesdays. It starts here with the Jonas Brothers; coming next are Gloria Estefan, Teddy Swims and Lizzo.
4) “The 1% Club,” 8 p.m., Fox. It’s another swirl of clever questions, quirky contestants and sharp comments by host Joel McHale. There are even nods to his football career; McHale, 6-foot-4, was a walk-on tight end for a champion University of Washington team, but apparently didn’t get into any games.
5) “Will Trent,” 10 p.m., ABC. Two veteran cops, Amanda Wagner and the retired Evelyn Mitchell, plan a vacation at a luxury resort. As so often happens, there’s a murder. That goes against CBS’ “NCIS: Sydney,” which has an emotional case for “Doc Roy,” the forensic pathologist.
