1) “Elsbeth,” 10 p.m., CBS. This was one of the best episodes in a smart season: A video installation lets people in Manhattan commune with a tiny town in seaside Scotland. Elsbeth is soon drawn to a handsome Scottish musician (Ioan Gruffudd, who has portrayed Horatio Hornblower, Lancelot and Mr. Fantastic) who — from 3,000 miles away — is a witness. She confers (shown here) by long-distance phone.
2) “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” season-finale, 9 p.m., FX and FXX; also 9:36 and 10:11, FXX. The 17th season is short and odd, ending with Frank (Danny DeVito) on “Golden Bachelor.” Some moments are crudely hilarious, some merely crude. There’s great support from Jesse Palmer, Carol Kane and (as Charlie’s mom) Lynne Marie Stewart, who died at 78.
3) “Epic Universe” special, 9 p.m., NBC. Often, Disney has used its shows to promote its parks. Now Universal links with NBC (its corporate colleague) to do the same. This promotes an Orlando park that has hubs for Harry Potter, Nintendo, “How to Train Your Dragon” and beyond. The hour has Bowen Yang, Steven Spielberg, Warwick Davis and more.
4) “America’s Got Talent,” 8 p.m., NBC. Tuesday launched the quarter-finals, with 11 acts performing; now we learn which ones advance. That collides with CBS’ “Big Brother,” Fox’s “MasterChef” and ABC’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” which has, among others, Kal Penn and Chloe Fineman.
5) “Match Game,” 9 p.m., ABC. Joel McHale — already brightening summer with Fox’s “The 1% Club” on Tuesdays — is on the panel. Others are Kevin Nealon, Amy Sedaris, Annie Murphy, Lamorne Morris and Ziwe. That goes against CW’s so-so “Good Cop/Bad Cop” rerun, involving a football rivalry.
