1) Football, 8 p.m. ET, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2. “Monday Night Football” was an ABC bedrock for 35 years. It slid over to ESPN for 14 years, then returned to help ABC during the pandemic, the strikes and general hard times. Now it’s on both networks, starting with the Minnesota Vikings (shown here in a previous season), 14-3 during the regular season last year, at the Chicago Bears, 5-12.
2) “POV: The Age of Water,” 10 p.m., PBS. While others remain in a lull, PBS has a big week for documentaries. Tuesday has a Thurgood Marshall profile; Wednesday has the season-opener of “Big Cats” and the debut of “Sacred Planet.” And tonight’s moving film starts after the deaths of three little girls in a Mexican town; a water-quality battle ensues.3) “The Neighborhood,” 8 and 8:30 p.m., CBS. In the first rerun,

4) “Survival Mode,” 10 p.m., NBC. In 2017, a new rail route opened, hoping to save 10 minutes from Seattle to Portland. But the first train derailed, killing three and injuring 65; three soldiers in nearby cars rushed to help the passengers. This is a rerun, as is the “America’s Got Talent” 20-year celebration, from 8-10 p.m.
5) “Irish Blood” season-finale, www.acorn.tv. The six-episode season comes to a fairly strong conclusion … but does leave questions open for next year. Fortunately, Acorn has just announced that there will be a second year; it goes into production in early 2026, again with Alicia Silverstone in Ireland.
