Best-bets for Sept. 12: dramas plus reality reruns

1) “The Rainmaker,” 10 p.m., USA. By the end of this hour — the mid-point in a 10-week story — there’s a key change. First, Rudy (shown here with his hard-edged boss) and his girlfriend face each other in court. What Rudy really needs is to find two witnesses, both nurses; right now, one holds the other captive. 2) “Blue Bloods,” 10 p.m., CBS. This rerun is from 2018, filled with tangles. After his brother-in-law steals his credit card, Danny forces him to help catch the mobsters he’s involved with. Also, Danny’s dad, the police commissioner, suspects that his former police partner is corrupt.

3) “Fire Country,” 8 and 9 p.m., CBS. In the first rerun, a heat wave rips through California; that leads to a power blackout and a difficult elevator rescue. In the second, a plane crash spurs a perilous rescue attempt.

4) “MasterChef” (Fox) and “America’s Got Talent” (NBC), 8 p.m. Here are reruns for both reality shows. On Fox, this sets up next week’s finale; we see season highlights, plus profiles of the three surviving duos. On NBC, 11 acts compete for the final four spots in the semi-finals.

5) ALSO: Fox has football at 9 p.m. ET, with Kansas State at Arizona. At 7:30, there’s NASCAR on CW and more football (Colorado and Houston) on ESPN. And Jenna Ortega stars in two semi-obscure movies — the mildly offbeat “Death of a Unicorn” (2025) at 8:10 p.m. on HBO and the romance “Winter Spring Summer or Fall” (2024) at 9 on Showtime.
