That follows “Fire Country” episodes involving a ski resort at 8 p.m. and house fire at 9.

2) “On Brand With Jimmy Kimmel,” 8 p.m., NBC. It’s the second hour of a show that debuted Tuesday, with contestants pitching marketing campaigns. Tonight, they try Southwest Airlines; this continues for two more Tuesdays and four more Fridays.

3) “Great Performances,” 9 p.m., PBS. This purports to be about opera great Grace Bumbry, yet tells us virtually nothing (except some isolated anecdotes) about her. Actually, it’s a device to show scenes from “Carmen,” a 1968 film directed by conductor Herbert von Karajan. The film is sumptuous, visually and musically, with stunning work by Bumbry.

4) “Steve,” Netflix. Cillian Murphy, the “Oppenheimer” star, plays the head teacher of a struggling British reform school. Also debuting on Netflix today is the latest “Monster” mini-series, this one with Charlie Hunnam as serial-killer Ed Gein. Arriving earlier this week was Amazon Prime’s “Play Dirty,” a heist film starring Mark Wahlberg.

5) “The Naked Gun” (2025), 8 and 11 p.m., MGM+. This mostly fun (and occasionally chaotic) film also arrived this week on Paramount+. On MGM, it’s alongside a previous “Naked Gun” sequel (1991) at 6:30 p.m. and — from the “Naked Gun” creators — the delightful “Airplane” (1980) at 9:30.
