1) “Abbott Elementary,” 8:30 p.m., ABC. The Philadelphia Phillies recently ended their play-off run, but we can view their best night. The “Abbott” cast went to the Aug. 28 game (shown here), to film an episode set on “Teachers Appreciation Night.” The result: Kyle Schwarber hit four home runs in a 19-4 win.
2) Baseball, Fox Sports 1. That “Abbott” episode might whet our appetite for real baseball. After two games in Toronto, the playoffs move to Seattle.
That’s in the American League championship round; the best-of-seven winner will go to the World Series.
3) “Secrets of the Dead,” 10 p.m., PBS. Alexandria is a modern city of five-million-plus. Buried in its bay, however, are pieces of an ancient powerhouse, battered by earthquakes, tsunamis and war. For 32 years, a French team has been finding artifacts. This excellent hour focuses on an overall find — possibly Cleopatra’s last temple.
4) “The Floor,” 8 p.m., Fox. We meet an extremely good contestant … and an extremely bad one … and a truly odd one. We see some good categories, plus one that suffers from weak and way-too-similar impressions. Overall, it’s a fun episode, much better than the previous ones.
5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., ABC’s “Shifting Gears” sees Riley long for a new career, after she learns her teen son makes more per-hour than she does. At 9, NBC’s “Chicago Fire” sees the counter-reaction to budget cuts. At 10, Burgess and Ruzek probe tangled relationships, after a murder in their neighborhood.
