1) “NCIS: Origins,” 9 p.m., CBS. This prequel series adds an early version of “Ducky” Mallard (shown here, left), the “NCIS” medical examiner. 2) “Kissinger” conclusion, 9-10:30 p.m., PBS. The first half of this compelling film left us fond of Kissinger, who fled Germany just before the Holocaust and later became an esteemed Harvard scholar. Now his work turns grim — the destruction of Cambodia, Chile and East Pakistan — before rebounding with an historic Mideast peace agreement.

3) Basketball, 8 and 11 p.m. ET, NBC and Peacock. NBC is careful to have a strong start for its Tuesday-night basketball: Like last week’s opener, it has the popular Warriors in the second game. They host the Clippers; the opener (colliding with the World Series on Fox) has the Bucks and Knicks.

4) “Dancing With the Stars.” 8-10 p.m., ABC. There’s a Halloween theme tonight, including a return of the marathon — now dubbed a “dance monster-thon.” Also, Cheryl Burke, a two-time champion, is a guest judge.

5) “High Potential,” 10 p.m., ABC. This one should interest us, after the recent heist at the Louvre art museum: A priceless painting has been stolen from a museum; Morgan links with Kardec and an art-recovery expert, trying to find it … and to unravel a fierce ownership battle.
