1) “Nature,” 8 p.m., PBS. Pigeons (shown here), it seems, are the ultimate urban survivors. They’re gifted physically — they can zoom vertically from the ground, like a helicopter — and mentally. They learn how to ride subways and escalators; they know which discarded bags have the best snacks. This delightful hour follows them in London and New York City.
3) “Nova,” 9 p.m., PBS. For 27 years, the International Space Station has been a marvel of engineering and co-operation. Four nations and one continent (Europe) have gradually assembled a 360-foot giant. What most of us don’t realize is that there have been several crises demanding improvised repairs. This starts a compelling, two-week look.
3) “Chicago Fire,” 9 p.m., NBC. Even with a siren, it can be impossible to pierce a traffic jam. Now a jam forces Violet and Novak to take strong measures to save a patient. That’s followed by a “Chicago P.D.,” with Torres doing an ordinary errand that suddenly turns deadly.
4) “Shifting Gears,” 8 p.m., ABC. When Riley hires her son at her coffee business, she quickly learns that working with family can be tough. Also, Matt’s dream car project may be scuttled. That’s followed by “Abbott Elementary” and the school’s no-phones policy.
5) ALSO: For older-folks dating, watch “Golden Bachelor” (9 p.m., ABC), setting up next week’s finale. If you prefer sleek, younger folks, catch “Anyone But You,” at 8 and 10 on FX. With gorgeous Australian backdrops, Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell trade clever dialog.
