Best-bets for Nov. 8: “SNL,” old (with Farley) and new

2) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. After the Farley film, you’ll probably want to see a new “SNL.” This one is hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser (also set to return as Golden Globes host), with Sombr as music guest.

3) “NCIS: Origins,” 8 p.m., CBS. On Tuesday, “Origins” will slide to the 8 p.m. slot, for an episode that flashes to Mark Harmon in his role as Gibbs. First, here’s a rerun of the Oct. 21 episode: When a college swimmer’s body washes ashore, the team must determine if this was murder.

4) Football: ABC starts at noon ET with a top-10 match-up — Brigham Young (No. 7) and Texas Tech (No. 8). It has Texas A&M (No. 3) and Missouri (No. 22) at 3:30 — the same time that CBS has Oregon (No. 9) and Iowa (No. 20). At 7:30, ABC has Louisiana State and Alabama (No. 4); NBC has Navy and Notre Dame. At 9, Fox has Nebraska-UCLA.

5) Movies: AMC has the first two “Star Wars” films at 6 and 9 p.m.; Showtime has the first “Godfather” ones at 7 and 1:. If you prefer something new, at 8 p.m. Hallmark has “Christmas Above the Clouds”; Lifetime (under the Terry McMillan Presents” banner), links a rapper and a minister for “Preach, Pray, Love.”
