2) “Murder in a Small Town,” 8 p.m., Fox. This show has one character who seems wildly out-of-sync with the other townsfolk: The Mayor (Marcia Gay Harden) is a schemer and manipulator, easy to dislike. But now she becomes a victim, in a strong hour that tugs emotions on all sides.

3) “Doc,” 9 p.m., Fox. At his father’s funeral, Jake solidifies his feelings about his past and future. Also, the doctor who is trying to destroy Amy’s life is stunned when her brother pushes it too far.

4) “Lidia Celebrates America,” 9 p.m., PBS. Lidia Bastianich, 78, has long celebrated food and diversity. Born in what was then Croatia, she came to the U.S. at 9; with her husband (and, later, their son, TV chef Joe Bastianich), she started popular restaurants. In this hour, she visits five diverse spots that bring food to people in need.

5) “Pillow Talk” (1959) and “Lover Come Back” (1961), 8 and 10 p.m., Turner Classic Movies. You might not expect clever writing in Rock Hudson/Doris Day tales, but these slickly entertaining films delivered. Both were Oscar-nominated for best original script; “Pillow Talk” won and had four more nominations.
