1) Parade preview (8 p.m.) and “A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving” (9-11 p.m.), NBC. Now we know the holidays are starting. First, is a preview of Thursday’s Macy’s parade; there are glimpses of floats, plus interviews with Jewel, Gavin DeGraw and Colbie Caillat, Then is the annual collection of “SNL” Thanksgiving sketches (shown here in a previous year).
2) “Sidelined: The QB and Me,” 8-10 p.m., Fox. Two headstrong teens — a dancer and a quarterback — try to stifle their feelings for each other, because of an uncertain film. The movie aired last year on Fox-owned Tubi, which debuts a sequel Thursday, during its simulcast of Lions-Packers football.
3) “Nature,” 8 p.m., PBS. This reruns a delightful hour, focusing on a Florida man who raised turkeys from birth. It’s followed by two looks at American roots: “Nova” views the weaponry that impacted the Revolutionar War; “Secrets of the Dead” views diseases that ravaged the Jamestown Colony.
4) “Shifting Gears,” 8 p.m., ABC. This reruns the season-opener, with Matt (Tim Allen) wrestling with his feelings for Eve (Jenna Elfman). At 8:30, Matt’s daughter Riley learns that her teen son makes more money than she does. Other reruns are “9-1-1: Nashville” and “Shark Tank,” at 9 and 10.
5) Movies. We can start the holiday weekend with fun (and brilliantly crafted) films. AMC has the first “Star Wars” ones at 5, 8 and 11 p.m. …. the Paramount Network has the first and third Indiana Jones ones at 8 and 10:35 … MGM+ has the first “Downton Abby” movie at 8. On the serious side, Turner Classic Movies has “The China Syndrome” at 8 p.m. ET.
