If you missed Monday’s “Everybody Loves Raymond” special, don’t fret.
In a quick change, CBS will rerun it at 9 p.m. Friday (Nov. 28).
And yes, this is one special worth repeating. It overflowed with humor and moments of warmth.
Ray Romano and Phil Rosenthal, the show’s creators, had stories about the early moments, including the casting of Romano’s wife: About 100 women auditioned, but Patricia Heaton was the only one who gave him a full kiss, as the script called for; she got the role.
The show brought back all of the surviving regulars (shown here), with tributes to the late Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts (who played Romano’s parents) and Sawyer Sweeten (who played one of his twin sons).
The special even offered a photo of Boyle with the best man at his wedding — John Lennon. And it had an abundance of clips, reminding us why lots of people loved “Everybody Loves Raymond.” For an overview of “Raymond” and “Cheers” (which was also profiled Monday), hit “news and quick comments” and scroll down.
