Best-bets for Dec. 15: music, massive or personal

1) “Tabernacle Choir: Hope For the Season,” 8 p.m., PBS, rerunning at 9:30. Here is epic-scale music at its best. There are great moments from soprano Ruthie Ann Miles (shown here) and narrator Dennis Haysbert. 2) “The Voice,” 9-11 p.m., NBC. So far, we know four of the finalists — Aubrey Nicole, 19; Aiden Ross, 20; Ralph Edwards, 30; and Jazz McKenzie, 31. Now the other two will be revealed; then each of the six will perform a contemporary song and a classic. Those performances will be recapped at 8 p.m. Tuesday, starting a three-hour finale.

3) “FBI,” 8-10 p.m., CBS. The other networks are already resting their dramas until January. Not CBS; this week it has 10 new episodes, each a “mid-season finale.” That starts here, when a triple-murder is just the prelude to a citywide crisis.

4) “St. Denis Medical,” 8 p.m., NBC. With the CBS comedies pre-empted, it’s time to sample the NBC ones. At St. Denis, a potential nurses’ strike leaves Alex wedged between two sides. Then “The Paper,” often excellent, has a so-so episode, with staffers sampling some advertised products.

5) ALSO: The Acorn streamer has one of its best shows and one of its worst. The good one is “Midsomer Murders”; tonight’s solid, movie-length tale finds fierce rivalry over lawn bowling. The other, “Madam Blanc,” usually has empty-headed stories. Now it tries a serious, two-week bomb-threat story, but is way out of its element.
