1) “The Year: 2025,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. Others have taken one-hour looks at the year in pop culture, but now ABC takes two hours to do it both ways. There’s the serious side — wars, wildfires, domestic turmoil, new pope, etc. — and the light side. The latter has interviews with Robert Irwin (shown here), the Jonas Brothers, Luke Bryan, podcasters, influencers and more.
2) Sports. In football, ESPN goes from a college bowl game (Georgia Southern and Appalachian State) at 2 p.m. ET to the pros (Rams-Falcons) at 8:15. ABC is skipping “Monday Night Football” tonight, but NBC doubles up on pro basketball, with games tonight (Cleveland-San Antonio at 8, Dallas-Portland at 10:30) and Tuesday.
3) “DMV,” 8:30 p.m., CBS. The two side stories in this rerun — excess water-drinking and bad photos — flop, but the main one is a delight: Colette is the driving examiner for Noa, who’s not much of a driver. That sets up a double-
entendre gag that’s a little crude and mostly quite funny.
4) “FBI,” 9 and 10 p.m., CBS. The CBS dramas won’t be back to new episodes until late February, but here are a couple reruns. First, a rapper and two fans are shot; then a sex-trafficking sting goes sideways.
5) Movies. You can catch one cartoon (“Cars 2”) at 8 p.m. on the Disney Channel or a marathon on Freeform. The “Hotel Transylvania” films are at 1 and 3 p.m., with “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at 5, “Aladdin” at 7 and “Big Hero 6” at 9. If you prefer live-action adventure, the terrific “Black Panther” is 8 p.m. on FX.
