2) “The Greatest Average American” debut, 9:02 p.m., ABC. Nate Bergatze hosts a concept he co-created: Regular folks — not your “Jeopardy” masterminds — face odd challenges and trivia. A winner then competes for the average American annual pay, $67,920.

3) “Survivor” opener, 8-11 p.m., CBS. The 50th edition starts with 24 past contestants, ranging from the first (Jenna Lewis-Dougherty) and second (Colby Donaldson) seasons to the 49th (Rizo Velovic, Savannah Louie).

4) “Nova,” 9 p.m., PBS. In Turkey, archaeologists probe remains that could change our view of history. They suggest an organized place for hunter-gatherers, 11,000 years ago — a time that was assumed to have only nomads. This follows an excellent “Nature” look at animal parenthood in jungles.

5) “Chicago P.D.,” 10 p.m., NBC. Here’s a rerun of the season-opener, a strong and propulsive hour. With his unit disbanded, Voight is working for Rapid Response; then he sees a chance to get his people together — with a terrific addition. This follows an 8 p.m. rerun of the “Voice” season-opener.
