1) World Cup, 5 and 9 p.m. ET, Fox. By the end of the day, the Cup will have its final four. It’s Norway-England at 5 and Argentina-Switzerland at 9. Those match-up include Cup scoring leaders: After five games, Argentina’s Lionel Messi (shown here) and Norway’s Erling Haaland have 8 and 7 goals.
2) “9-1-1: Nashville,” 8-11 p.m., ABC. The first rerun includes a crossover from the original “9-1-1” series: Buck and Eddie head to Nashville for the firefighter games. The next two feature LeAnn Rimes as Dixie, the country-music singer. At 9, she’s stressed by polyps; at 10, she cuts a diss track about Blythe (Kate Capshaw), her ex-boyfriend’s wife.
3) Cruise-a-thon. The Paramount Network has a Tom Cruise surge. “Jack Reacher” (2012) is at noon, with the original “Top Gun” (1986) at 3:10 and “Top Gun Maverick” (2022) at 5:35. Those two repeat at 8:35 and 11:05 … and AMC has Cruise’s “War of the Worlds” (2005) at 9:30.
4) More movies. The “Lord of the Rings” trilogy — epic in scope and richly crafted — is on TBS at noon, 4 and 8 p.m. If you prefer something lighter (and animated), catch “Monsters University” (2013) at 7 p.m. on the Disney Channel or a full day on FX, including “Zootopia” (2016) at 2:30, “Tangled” (2010) at 5 and “Moana” (2016) at 7 and 9:30.
5) More. Reruns include CBS’ “Boston Blue” and NBC’s “The Wall” at 8 p.m. and NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” (with Harry Styles as host and music guest) at 11:29. National Geographic has “Sharkfest” reruns, then two new hours: At 9, a look at two beach communities hit by a surge of shark attacks; at 10, a probe of why sharks are drawn to surfers.
