1) “Adults” season-openers, 9 and 9:34 p.m., FX and FXX. Five friends (shown here) share a house in Queens; in their mid-20s, they face the looming possibility of grown-up lives and jobs. That’s been done before (from “Real World” to “Friends”), but never with such exuberant twists. Some people will find it too gen-Z or too R-rated; others will find it hilarious.
2) “Big Brother,” 8 p.m., CBS. Thia expands to 90 minutes, for good reason: It’s the 1,000th episode, combining a regular episode (complete with eviction) and references to the past. Now “BB” trails only Ed Sullivan’s 1,068 episodes among primetime entertainment shows (anthologies excluded). “Funniest Videos” has 835, with 808 for “The Simpsons.”
3) “Leanne” second season, Netflix. There’s no “Georgie & Mandy” tonight, but don’t worry: The same guy (Chuck Lorre) co-created and co-produces this show, which ripples with good characters and sharp dialog. The opener has hilarious moments with Leanne’s parents; others include OK moments with her ex-husband (Ryan Stiles) and boyfriend (Tim Daly).
4) “Trivial Pursuit” and “Scrabble,” 8 and 9 p.m., CW. These are reruns, but the key is what’s not here: Just a week ago, CW suddenly decided not to air Miss Teen USA and Miss USA. The latter is 8 p.m. today, but only streaming on the Queen Beauty Network, which last year charged $35 to see it.
5) RERUNS: At 8 p.m., NBC’s “Law & Order” probes the murder of a flight investigator. At 9, Fox’s “Best Medicine” finds Martin suspicious of the “sister city” from Norway. At 10, CBS’ “Elsbeth” goes back 18 months, for a good hour, with Matthew Broderick scheming to get Ivy League admissions.
