Best-bets for Oct. 29: CBS fun, from ghosts to tech

2) “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” 8 p.m., CBS. Every Halloween story doesn’t have to be epic, you know. This one simply involves which grandma makes CeeCee’s Halloween costume; the result is hilarious. It’s followed by a poor “Eternally Yours,” a good “Ghosts” and a great “Cupertino,” giving Christy a high-flying, high-tech adventure.

3) “9-1-1,” 8 p.m., ABC. The sinkhole/volcano crisis continues, with lava streaming toward the hospital; Athena (Angela Bassett) remains trapped underground, unable to call for help. That’s followed by “9-1-1: Nashville,” which merely has a pollen storm and an emergency heart transplant. Then “Grey’s Anatomy” sees Blue struggling to return.

4) “American Horror Story” finale, 9-9:51 p.m., FX. If you think Bassett has a tough time with that sinkhole, try this: Her plan to trap Satan failed; now the witches scramble to save the world. The show is done at a heightened level, as if Tennessee Williams characters had written a scare story.

5) ALSO: The WNBA has Game 6 of its best-of-seven finals, with Atlanta and Golden State; that’s 8 p.m. ET on USA and CNBC. And BBC America has Stephen King tales, filmed by master directors. It’s Mary Lambert’s “Pet Sematary” at 2:30, its less-regarded sequel at 4:30, Rob Reiner’s “Misery” at 6:30 and John Carpenter’s “Christine” at 9.
