The “Sesame Street” gang will be back on CNN on Saturday – this time, talking about racism, not COVID-19.

“Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism” will be at 10 a.m. ET. It will also by on www.cnn.com, plus the CNN apps and CNN en Espanol.

Van Jones – a commentator who has been particularly outspoken since George Floyd’s death, will co-anchor with Erica Hill and Big Bird.

“Sesame” – which has done COVID specials on CNN – has always represented a rainbow of colors onscreen and off. Elmo, for instance, was created and, for years, voiced by Kevin Clash, who is black.

Muppets on the special will include Elmo and his dad, plus Gabrielle (who is black) and Rosita (a bilingual Mexican-American). Also included are two non-Muppets: Roscoe Orman (shown here) was Gordon for 42 years; Sonia Manzano, who is Latina, was Maria for 44.
