That follows other specials after Parton’s death, Aug. 25, at 80. CBS had two primetime hours, plus a Parton tribute during the Video Music Awards, NBC had a tribute during the Emmys and ABC announced this special, without details.
Now the line-up is set. It includes Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Kelsie Ballerini, Lady A, Little Big Town, Carly Pearce, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Ashley McBride, Zach Brown, Molly Tuttle, Lukas Nelson, Sierra Hull and Zach Brown.
That will be at Belmont University in Nashville and will include a performance by some of its students, reflecting a set of classes billed as “Dolly U,” focusing on Parton’s music, career and entrepreneurial skills.
